So this week Europe’s biggest interior design fair has kicked off in Milan, Italy. And this year it looks to be a sell out.

Salone del Mobile was originally conceived in the 1960’s as an exhibition to showcase the very best of Italian furniture and design, it has now grown to be the largest interiors exhibition of its kind in the world, with exhibitors from 160 countries flying in from all 4 corners of the globe. However whilst it is now a truly international affair, a vast number of exhibitors are still based in Italy, just going to prove the Italians are still world leaders when it come to design.

This is the date for over 2,400 brands and manufacturers to showcase the latest designs and technology, in a space covering a huge 207,000sq meters.

Within the main interiors exhibition are dedicated shows such as Eurocucine displaying all aspects of European kitchen design, including our own Italian kitchen supplier Comprex SRL. A lighting section under the Euroluce banner offering the very best from the lighting world and also SaloneSatellite, which gives an elevated platform to the young designers from around the globe to show what they can do.

If you are planning an extra special refurbishment of your home, then now is a perfect opportunity to take a short plane trip and indulge yourself in the luxury surroundings of Salone del Mobile. Of course taking out a little time to savour the beautiful architecture of Milano itself and sample the wonderful food and drink which the Italians do so well.
